Contrary to general opinion that says that electric cars can save cities from oil and gasoline fumes, a study conducted in Norway came to the conclusion that these types of cars are actually more threatening and harmful to the environment than conventional ones run on diesel or gasoline. University of Science and Technology of Norway came to the conclusion that the production of electric cars in the world would cause more pollution than traditional cars. The study noted that greenhouse gas emissions substantially increased if the coal used to produce electricity to be set in motion machines, while the production of electric cars brings much more harmful residues than other production car. However, in some cases, electric cars may make sense.

Team researchers analyzed the life cycle and environmental impact compared to conventional cars with electric cars. Basically they appreciated how the production, use and ultimate elimination of the car, damaging the environment. Electric cars require more material pollution than conventional cars, such as nickel, copper and aluminum. The impact of acidification is much higher, say researchers. Only the production of electric cars causes enough pollution before these cars hit the streets. But if these machines that use electricity generated from sources with low carbon emission energy or nuclear power plants, then the result is positive in the long run, there are savings in the amount of polluting emissions outdoor cast.
