The search giant Google has changed the name of its main page edition Palestinian Palestinian territories in Palestine. Changing introduced in May 1, shows that already google.ps page displays the word Palestine in Arabic and English under the Google logo.
In a statement to the BBC, Google spokesman Nathan Tyler said the change from the Palestinian territories in Palestine became after consultation with a number of sources and authorities. "In this case I follow the position of the UN and international organizations.
Terminology is a sensitive issue and the political debate since many countries still do not recognize the state of Palestine. In November this year, the UN gave Palestine the status of non-member observer state, s decision was strongly opposed by Israel and the U.S..
Before this decision Palestine Liberation Organization had only permanent observer status.
